ABSTRACT
Abstract One of the key challenges in two-dimensional (2D) materials is to go beyond graphene, a prototype 2D polymer (2DP), and synthesize its organic analogues with structural control at atomic- or molecular-level. Here we show successful preparation porphyrin-containing monolayer multilayer 2DPs through Schiff-base polycondensation reaction an air–water liquid–liquid interface, respectively. Both have crystalline structures as indicated by selected area electron diffraction. The 2DP has thickness of∼0.7 nm lateral size 4-inch wafer, it Young’s modulus 267±30 GPa. Notably, functions active semiconducting layer thin film transistor, while from cobalt-porphyrin monomer efficiently catalyses hydrogen generation water. This work presents advance synthesis novel for electronics energy-related applications.
