ABSTRACT
Abstract Background Currently, there is limited information on the intervention efficacy for children with speech motor delay (SMD). This randomized control trial (RCT) study examined effectiveness of Prompts Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT) to improve outcomes in SMD. We hypothesized that SMD receiving PROMPT would more measured than those waitlisted and home training. Methods Using a two-arm, parallel group, RCT, 49 were allocated either an group ( N = 24) received 45 min two times week 10 weeks or same duration only training instructions 25). Outcome measures control, articulation, intelligibility (word sentence levels), functional communication assessed at baseline 10-week follow-up. Results was associated notable improvements word-level intelligibility. Intervention allocation yielded weak sentence-level communication. Conclusions clinically effective approach Impact report findings phase III using RCT design. will be fundamental delivery services this population. These may facilitate development evidence-based care pathway severe sound disorders.
