ABSTRACT
We report the results from first 5D tomographic diffraction imaging experiment of a complex Ni-Pd/CeO2-ZrO2/Al2O3 catalyst used for methane reforming. This five-dimensional (three spatial, one scattering and dimension to denote time/imposed state) approach enabled us track chemical evolution many particles across bed relate these changes gas environment that experience. Rietveld analysis some 2 × 106 patterns allowed extract heterogeneities in Å nm μm scale (3D maps corresponding unit cell lattice parameters, crystallite sizes phase distribution respectively) under different environments. are able capture Ni-containing species gain more complete insight into multiple roles CeO2-ZrO2 promoters reasons behind partial deactivation during oxidation methane.
