ABSTRACT
Abstract The US EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD) has conducted a research program assessing potential risks emerging materials technologies, including engineered nanomaterials (ENM). As component that program, nanomaterial knowledge base, termed “NaKnowBase”, was developed containing the results published ORD relevant to environmental biological actions ENM. experimental data address issues such as ENM release into environment; fate, transport transformations in media; exposure ecological species or humans; for effects on those species. database captures information physicochemical properties tested, assays performed their parameters, obtained. NaKnowBase (NKB) is relational SQL database, may be queried either with code through user-friendly web interface. Filtered output spreadsheet format subsequent user-defined analyses. Potential uses might include input quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR), meta-analyses, other investigative approaches.
