ABSTRACT
Abstract Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are mediators of intercellular communication and a promising class biomarkers. Surface proteins EVs play decisive roles in establishing connection with recipient cells, they putative targets for diagnostic assays. Analysis the surface can thus both illuminate biological functions help identify potential We developed strategy combining high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) proximity ligation assays (PLA) to first then validate discovered on EVs. applied our workflow investigate small found seminal fluid (SF-sEV). identified 1,014 verified presence subset these SF-sEVs. Our work demonstrates general deep analysis EVs’ across patients pathological conditions, proceeding from unbiased screening by HRMS ultra-sensitive targeted analyses via PLA.
