ABSTRACT
Abstract Heading date is a critical trait for adaptation of rice to different cultivation areas and cropping seasons. We evaluated the heading dates 1,123 chromosome segments substitution lines (CSSLs) in genetic background an elite variety Huajingxian74 (HJX74). A CSSL with substituted from Zihui100 exhibited late under both natural long-day (NLD) short-day (NSD) conditions phenotype was controlled by two novel epistatic loci on 8 3, respectively, termed LH8 EH3 . The function dependent genotype through interaction between alleles. Genetic molecular characterization revealed encodes CCAAT-box-binding transcription factor date1 ( Hd1 )-binding activity may delay flowering repressing expression Early Ehd1 ). Our work provides solid foundation further study gene has application breeding greater adaptability.
