ABSTRACT
Abstract We report a series of ionically modified ferrocene compounds for hybrid lithium-organic non-aqueous redox flow batteries, based on the ferrocene/ferrocenium couple as active catholyte material. Tetraalkylammonium ionic moieties were incorporated into structure, in order to enhance solubility otherwise relatively insoluble ferrocene. The effect various counter anions tetraalkylammonium ionized species appended ferrocene, such bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide, hexafluorophosphate, perchlorate, tetrafluoroborate and dicyanamide was investigated. solution chemistry studied, understand mechanism enhancement. Finally, electrochemical performance these evaluated shown have excellent cell efficiency superior cycling stability.
