ABSTRACT
This work reports a facile wafer-level fabrication for nanogap-rich gold nanoislands highly sensitive surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) by repeating solid-state thermal dewetting of thin film. The method provides enlarged with small gap spacing, which increase the number electromagnetic hotspots and thus enhance extinction intensity as well tunability plasmon resonance wavelength. plasmonic from repeated substantially SERS enhancement factor over one order-of-magnitude higher than those single-step process they allow ultrasensitive detection neurotransmitter extremely low activity. simple many opportunities engineering plasmonics efficient photon collection.
