ABSTRACT
Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the amount protein in stratum corneum atopic dermatitis (AD) patients and healthy controls, using tape stripping technique. Furthermore, compare two different methods for assessment. Tape performed AD controls collect samples subsequently analysed with methods: Squame Scan, which gives an estimate total (soluble insoluble) Micro BCA determination kit measures soluble protein. Significant differences cumulative content between lesional, non-lesional control skin found Scan as well kit. had significantly lower protein, both compared controls. formed 82% lesional skin, 17–24% control. A decreasing increasing depth all types. were revealed, independent method used.
