Preserved Nephrogenesis Following Partial Nephrectomy in Early Neonates

Reconstitution of total nephron segments after resection in the adult kidney has not been achieved; however, whether neonatal can maintain capacity for neo-nephrogenesis is unknown. We performed partial rats on postnatal days 1 (P1x kidney) and 4 (P4x examined morphological changes relevant factors. The P1x bulged into newly formed cortex from wound edge, while nephrogenesis failure was prominent P4x kidney.
