ABSTRACT
Abstract The decellularized cornea has received considerable attention for use as an artificial cornea. is free from cellular components and other immunogens, but maintains the integrity of extracellular matrix. However, ultrastructure yet to be demonstrated in detail. We investigated influence high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) on decellularization corneal its involvement transparency assessed vivo behaviour using two animal transplantation models, relation remodelling collagen fibrils. Decellularized corneas were prepared by HHP method. executed haematoxylin eosin Masson’s trichrome staining demonstrate complete removal cells. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that method was better maintained than detergent after interlamellar keratoplasty microkeratome-assisted anterior lamellar a rabbit model stable remained transparent without ultrastructural alterations. conclude superior properties attributed preservation ultrastructure.
