ABSTRACT
The human body contains different endothelial cell types and differences in their angiogenic potential are poorly understood. We compared the functional ability of aortic cells (HAECs) umbilical vein (HUVECs) using a three-dimensional (3D) microfluidic culture system. HAECs HUVECs exhibited similar cellular characteristics 2D system; however, 3D angiogenesis system, stronger than HUVECs. Interestingly, expression level fibroblast growth factor (FGF)2 FGF5 under vascular (VEGF)-A stimulation was significantly higher Moreover, small interfering RNA-mediated knockdown FGF2 more attenuated sprouting induced from Our results suggest that have greater through upregulation could be compatible type to achieve robust angiogenesis.
