ABSTRACT
Abstract Irisin is processed from fibronectin type III domain-containing protein 5 (FNDC5). However, a controversy exists concerning irisin origin, regulation and function. To elucidate the relationship between serum FNDC5 mRNA expression levels, we evaluated plasma levels gene in hypothalamus, gastrocnemius muscle different depots of adipose tissue models altered metabolism. In normal rats, blood diminished after 48-h fast with leptin, insulin alloxan treatments concentrations increased diabetic rats treatment acute levels. No changes were observed during long-term experiments diets. We suggested that circulating are result sum produced by skeletal muscle. This study shows for first time there differences depending on white depots. Moreover, considerable decrease visceral epididymal correlated probably an attempt to compensate occurs their mass. Hypothalamic did not change any tested diets but metformin suggesting central peripheral /irisin functions different.
