Validation of the Medication Adherence Rating Scale in homeless patients with schizophrenia: Results from the French Housing First experience

ABSTRACT
Abstract The Medication Adherence Rating Scale (MARS) is one of the most widely used measurements adherence in schizophrenia (SZ), but there no available data regarding its psychometric properties homeless SZ patients (HSZ). aim this study was therefore to assess MARS a large multicenter sample HSZ subjects. This multi-centre prospective conducted following 4 French cities: Lille, Marseille, Paris and Toulouse. Three hundred fifty-three were included. 3-factor structure confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis: RMSEA = 0.045, CFI 0.98, TLI 0.97 WRMR 0.76. unidimensionality each supported by satisfactory INFIT statistics. Item internal consistencies all higher than 0.20 Kuder–Richardson 0.6, except for 2, which closed 0.5. Significant associations with symptoms, functioning quality life showed external validity. acceptability missing lower 5% dimension. short self-administered instrument acceptable that yields interesting information about medication adherence.
