ABSTRACT
Abstract Cholestasis is a clinically significant symptom and widely associated with liver diseases, however, there are very few effective therapies for cholestasis. Danning tablet (DNT, Chinese patent medicine preparation) has been used to treat human gallbladder diseases more than 20 years in China. However, which ingredients of DNT contributed this beneficial effect their mechanistic underpinnings have largely unknown. In the present study, we discovered that not only demonstrated greater benefits cholecystitis patients after cholecystectomy surgery clinic but also showed protective against alpha-naphthylisothiocyanate (ANIT)-induced cholestasis model rodent. Curcumin, one major compound derived from DNT, exerted through farnesoid X receptor (FXR), focused as potential therapeutic targets treating The underlying mechanism curcumin was restoring bile acid homeostasis antagonizing inflammatory responses FXR-dependent manner turn overall attenuation. Collectively, can be served treatment option injury
