ABSTRACT
Abstract Extracellular histones promote platelet aggregation and thrombosis; this is followed by induction of coagulation disorder, which results in exhaustion factors. Complement component 5 (C5) known to be associated with system activation. To date, the pathological mechanism underlying liver injury has remained unclear. Here, we investigated whether C5 promotes histone-induced lethal thrombosis. C5-sufficient C5-deficient mice received single tail vein injections purified, unfractionated obtained from calf thymus (45–75 μg/g). Subsequently, were monitored for survival up 72 h. Based on data, 45 μg/g dose was used analysis blood cell count, function, ability, promotion platelet/leukocyte aggregate (PLA) production extracellular histones. protected thrombosis had milder thrombocytopenia, consumptive coagulopathy, embolism lower PLA than mice. These indicate that disorders, production, embolism-induced injury. In conclusion,
