ABSTRACT
Thiophene is one of the main sulfur-containing compounds in gasoline and difficult to be oxidized with conventional oxidative processes. Herein for first time we report that thiophene can SO3 on BiVO4 co-loaded Pt RuO2 co-catalysts (denoted as Pt-RuO2/BiVO4) under visible light irradiation molecular oxygen oxidant. The high activity catalyst achieved by only loading low 0.03 wt% 0.01 dual BiVO4. ESR measurements give evidence active species (˙OH O2˙−) generated photocatalytic processes are involved oxidation thiophene. considerable enhancement attributed simultaneous presence reduction which beneficial efficient separation transfer photo-generated electrons holes.
