ABSTRACT
Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) powder is graft polymerized with N,N-dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) by a pre-irradiation induced polymerization technique. The existence of the chains in grafted PVDF (PVDF-g-PDMAA) has been proven FT-IR spectroscopy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. Then, microfiltration (MF) membranes are prepared isothermal immersion precipitation from PVDF-g-PDMAA 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solution water bath. hydrophilicity MF determined measuring contact angles. asymmetric morphology studied scanning electron microscopy (SEM), filtration properties tested. interaction between proteins comparing fluorescence images these cast pristine degree grafting (DG) 17.1% after surface fouling Fluorescein Isothiocyanate (FITC)-conjugated Human Albumin solution. antifouling property recovery percentage pure flux have fouled bovine serum albumin (BSA) lysozyme aqueous solution, separately. results confirm that PDMAA improves reduces protein adsorption powder.
