ABSTRACT
Polymer/graphene nanocomposites have generated intensive interest due to their unique properties. Dispersion and interface interactions between graphene the polymer matrix are two key factors obtain property enhancements. According open literature, in poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanocomposites, usually obtains more significant enhancements than graphite oxide (GO), although GO can much easily form a good dispersion strong interaction PVA because of its oxygenated functionalities, reason has not been well documented yet. In this work, were successfully incorporated into PVA; properties mechanism for investigated. formed better exfoliation while caused including mechanical properties, electrical conductivity thermal stability. The strength graphene/GO nano-layers is attributed be fundamental cause crystallinity properties; hydrogen bond among molecules factor influence glass transition temperatures; decisive graphene/GO; conducting network explanation increased conductivity; physical barrier effect nano-sheets main improved This work investigates mechanisms enhancements, clarifies roles nano-layers, explains why achieves GO.
