ABSTRACT
We present a green method for the synthesis of ZnO–Au hybrids using an ultrafast microwave-based technique. This provides good control over nucleation metal nanoparticles on oxide support, which governs morphology and microstructure hybrids. The exhibit catalytic activity CO oxidation compared to similar reported in literature. Detailed XPS investigation reveals presence Au–Zn Au–O bonds at interface. surface doping leads formation anionic cationic Au sites that contribute enhanced activity. Our is general can be applied designing other supported catalysts with controlled interfaces.
