ABSTRACT
Post-translational lysine methylation and acetylation are two major modifications of residues. They play critical roles in various biological processes, especially gene regulation. Identification protein sites would be a foundation for understanding their modification dynamics molecular mechanism. This work presents method called PLMLA that incorporates sequence information, secondary structure amino acid properties to predict residues whole sequences. We apply an encoding scheme based on grouped weight position composition extract information physicochemical around sites. The prediction accuracy methyllysine acetyllysine 83.02% 83.08%, respectively. Feature analysis reveals is likely occur at the coil region prefers helix protein. upstream away from central site may close methylated three-dimensional have significant influence methyllysine, while positively charged acetyllysine. online service available http://bioinfo.ncu.edu.cn/inquiries_PLMLA.aspx.
