ABSTRACT
Gold (Au) catalysts have been rarely investigated for the oxidation of glucose in absence a base. These conditions are critical, however, to enable sequential one-pot combination cellulose hydrolysis and glucoseoxidation. Here we evaluate catalytic performance stability Au nanoparticles supported on metal oxides gluconic acid under unadjusted pH acidic conditions. The study provides insights into deactivation caused by leaching hydrothermal sintering nanoparticles, as well adsorption reactive species. We found that lowering surface density decreases rate hence enhances activity catalysts.
