ABSTRACT
Amphiphilic molecules generally tend to organize spontaneously into spherical or cylindrical micelles/vesicles in appropriate liquid media and conditions, seldom form two dimensional (2D) planar structures with a regular shape, due their energetically unfavorable state. Herein, the self-assembly of new bolaamphiphile bearing bistriazole-pyrene unit leads formation mono-molecule-layer nano-ribbons. The π-π stacking interaction between rigid units electrostatic screening contributed by aromatic counterion tosyl groups are responsible for 2D alignment aggregate. Partial replacement causes reduction width nano-ribbons coordination triazole Pd2+ ions results collapse self-assembled structure. This study supplies clues fabricating molecular level nanostructures bottom-up supramolecular assembly.
