ABSTRACT
The corrosion-promotion activity of graphene is inhibited when encapsulated in insulating SiO2 because can act as a spacer isolating from the metal substrate so to prevent graphene–metal micro-galvanic corrosion. Incorporating rGO@SiO2 nanosheets into polymer coating also greatly enhances corrosion resistance coating.
