ABSTRACT
The photocatalytic activity of SrTiO3 modified with Co3O4 nanoparticles for water oxidation under visible light (λ > 480 nm) was investigated respect to the physicochemical properties support. synthesized by a polymerized complex method or hydrothermal method, followed calcination in air at different temperatures order obtain particles having sizes. nanoparticles, which provide both absorption and centers, were loaded on as-prepared an impregnation using Co(NO3)2 as precursor, heating 423 K air. Decreasing particle size (that is, improving crystallinity) enhanced promoting formation that provided optimal catalytic sites. However, aggregation occurred overly large particles, leading decrease activity. This study demonstrates possibility tuning Co3O4-loaded wide-gap semiconductor through appropriate selection support material.
