A unique polyoxometalate complex made up of a tetradecanuclear nickel bisphosphonate cluster capping {SiW9} unit has been characterized. This stable compound exhibits high hydrogen evolution reaction photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation via reductive quenching mechanism.
