ABSTRACT
Glycosylation is involved in several biological processes, and its alterations can reflect the process of certain diseases. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has attained status a global pandemic; however, difference salivary protein glycosylation between healthy subjects patients with T2DM not been fully understood. In present study, specimens from (n = 72) volunteers (HVs, n 80) were enrolled divided into discovery validation cohorts. A method combining lectin microarray blotting was employed to investigate confirm altered glycopatterns glycoproteins. Then, lectin-mediated affinity capture glycoproteins MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS performed obtain precise structural information glycans. As result, recognized by 5 lectins (LEL, VVA, Jacalin, RCA120 DSA) showed significant alteration saliva patients.
