Herein, a brand-new dual-electrolyte consisting of porous polyacrylic acid (PAA) hydrogel and 4 M KOH aqueous electrolyte is put forward. The Al-air battery with this demonstrates well-suppressed self-corrosion enhanced electrochemical performance.
