The conversion of the [60]fullerene-fused lactones to ketones with triflic anhydride as an unusual reductant under aerobic conditions has been achieved in excellent yields. present thermal retro Baeyer-Villiger reaction from no precedents. In addition, unique ring-opened peroxy [60]fullerene derivatives can be obtained by electrochemical reactions synthesized ketones.
