ABSTRACT
Abstract Remote monitoring systems has emerged to automate public services, where Internet of Things (IoT) devices are deployed collect and relay streams status updates a remote control centre. The freshness collected data is critical importance system performance, which can be quantified by the concept age information (AoI). To obtain timely perception monitored area, each sensor tends sample at maximum frequency, may lead device drop‐outs due limited battery capacity. Simultaneous wireless power transfer (SWIPT) considered as promising technology prolong network lifetime. In this paper, SWIPT‐enabled two‐hop network, node uses splitting protocol assist transmissions from multiple source nodes destination considered. impact coefficients, arrival pattern time‐varying channel conditions on averaged performance expected lifetime theoretically analysed. Moreover, lightweight strategy selectively forward packets based reward function consisting energy level reduction developed. Simulation results show that proposed outperforms existing schemes in collecting energy‐efficient manner.
