ABSTRACT
Microgrids comprise a network of small scale distributed energy resources (DERs) like fuel cells, micro turbines, PV arrays and wind turbine etc. storage devices. Current deregulation regime is encouraging open competition amongst the small/medium utility service providers in providing quality reliable 'clean' power to customers at an economic rate. Economic production related higher operational efficiency generating distribution systems. In reforming process, taxes penalties imposed on tariff system, environmental pollution tax, contracted failure are posing problems for fossil plants. with environment-friendly DERs have edge over such problems. also reduce line loss CO2/NOx emission, increase overall through CHP operation, relieve T&D congestion defer investments upgrade existing generation. However, all these benefits could be achieved if optimal size location. This paper presents particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique determine location DER meshed maximizing by minimizing loss.
