ABSTRACT
The methodology for the nonlinear modelling and analysis of active magnetic bearing (AMB) systems in harmonic domain (HD) is presented. This approach based on HD linearisation AMB system around stationary solutions at different rotating speeds. main advantage obtained representation periodic LTV models that describe steady-state dynamics each speed, by means LTI HD. In order to show its possibilities, proposed applied an laboratory testbed MBC500 Rotor Dynamics from Launchpoint Technologies. explains nature response appears high speeds, due large oscillations introduced shaft unbalance, detects a low-frequency gain loss when increasing speed. phenomenon causes instability system, leading destructive crashes. addition, allows take into account effect delay calculation time behaviour controller implemented using digital devices.
