ABSTRACT
Unified power flow controller (UPFC) is one of the most versatile and complex flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices. It emerged with a proven capability instantaneous control line parameters. This study presents an approach based on direct Lyapunov stability theory finite‐time convergence chattering‐free characteristics to improve damping oscillations using UPFC. A state‐variable strategy derived implemented tackle problem states. In suggested method, chattering phenomena discontinuity controller, that common in controllers, are removed obtain continuous smooth controller. The simple clear than conventional famous controllers for double‐integrator systems. Simulation results given illustrate effectiveness robustness against parameter uncertainty external disturbances proposed algorithm. shown settling time system, enhanced significantly less non‐linear controllers. investigated UPFC connected two‐bus system.
