ABSTRACT
With the development of power electronics technology, numerous studies have been conducted on voltage‐source converter‐based high‐voltage DC (VSC‐HVDC) transmission technology and low‐voltage micro‐grids. However, distribution networks are more sophisticated than HVDC with respect to complex topology, changeable operation modes use diverse electronic devices. Research medium‐voltage (VSC‐MVDC) is still in its infancy stage, whether or not some existing control protection schemes used VSC‐HVDC can be applicable remains a question. In this study, dynamic simulation platform circuit breakers initially established. This based first dual‐terminal VSC‐MVDC network constructed China. Second, complete overall scheme proposed for networks. The an array strategies, including controls system startup/shutdown, voltage coordination, mode transition, single‐station integration, fault isolation, recovery. Finally, validated through experiments using platform. Experimental results indicate effectiveness Thus, design future
