ABSTRACT
In this study, a concept and design optimisation procedure of novel compact multiple‐input–multiple‐output (MIMO) slot antenna is presented. As the authors’ primary objective to achieve better utilisation available space, individual ultra‐wideband (UWB) antennas are constrained triangular shape optimised for reduced size. Subsequently, MIMO structure assembled using previously designed radiators in orthogonal arrangement. Low computational cost geometry parameter adjustment maintained by employing surrogate‐assisted involving variable‐fidelity electromagnetic simulation models. The footprint only 630 mm 2 features very good isolation entire UWB frequency band. Numerical results confirmed experimental measurements fabricated prototype.
