Development of backscatter sounding single‐site location system

ABSTRACT
Unlike the present single‐site location systems, background ionospheric parameters of which are obtained by vertical‐incident sounding or oblique‐incident sounding, a system based on technique backscatter is able to monitor large region ionosphere at single site introduced in this study. The obtains quasi‐real‐time data auto‐scaled ionograms and parametric inversion. A numeric ray‐tracing method, taking into consideration gradients electron density, has been improved calculate ground range between signal receiver using two‐dimensional density profiles. By integrating module, direction‐finding module together, outputs geo‐location transmitter automatically one station. To validate system, experiments carried out show effectiveness estimating geo‐locations.
