ABSTRACT
The demand to fabricate membranes much cheaper than usual expensive methods creates an opportunity find low‐cost and more available modifying agents for synthesising appropriate membrane distillation (MD) process. In this work, reactive ethylene terpolymer was applied modify a commercial polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) using in the desalination Elvaloy4170 with hydrophobic structure containing three different functional groups coated (different contents of 0.5, 1, 1.5 2 wt%) on top surface microporous PVDF resultant were analysed under air‐gap MD fabricated structures determined by scanning electron microscopy atomic force investigate their elemental topographical properties. After experiments, wt% showed water vapour flux 1.93 kg/m h salt rejection >99.7 which confirmed its suitability be used Moreover, assess anti‐fouling properties membranes, real seawater as feed solution, result presented recovery 87% indicating enhanced compared (flux 71%).
