ABSTRACT
A study of compressibility effects on structure and evolution a sheared homogeneous turbulent flow is carried out using rapid distortion theory (RDT). The focus this paper consists in validating RDT code by considering the direct numerical simulation (DNS) results Simone [Simone, Coleman Cambon, Fluid Mech. 330, 307 (1997)]. We will use to clarify physics compressible flows. An analysis behavior different terms appearing kinetic energy Reynolds stress equations permit well identify which allow us analyze performance model Fujiwara Arakawa concerning pressure-dilatation correlation. evaluation stays field validity.
