ABSTRACT
Abstract Background and study aims A new hemostatic adhesive powder (UI-EWD) was developed to reduce high rebleeding rates technical challenges associated with application of currently available powders. The aim the current assess performance UI-EWD for nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (NVUGIB). Patients methods total 56 consecutive patients that received monotherapy endoscopic hemostasis due NVUGIB were retrospectively reviewed. Main outcomes success immediate within 30 days. Outcomes analyzed by reviewing patient medical records. Results Etiologies were: post-endoscopic therapy in 46 (82.1 %), peptic ulcer 8 (14.3 tumor 1 (1.8 other %). successfully applied at site all cases. rate 96.4 % (54/56), 30-day among achieved 3.7 (2/54). No adverse event related use occurred. Conclusion found have a when used as showed promising results terms preventing rebleeding.
