ABSTRACT
Glucagon-like petide-1 (GLP-1) agonists such as liraglutide are widely employed in type 2 diabetes due to their glucose reducing properties and small risk of hypoglycemia. Recently, it has been shown that GLP-1agonists can inhibit breast cancer cells growth. Nonetheless, concerns remained about tumor promoting effects stated by population studies. We evaluated the on proliferation MDA-MB-231 MTT assay then ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters expressions assessed Real time PCR. Statistical comparisons were made using one-way analysis variance followed a post hoc Dunnett test. Here, we report stimulate growth highly invasive triple negative cell line MDA-MB-231; which be attributed AMPK-dependent epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) happening context. Toxicity only observed with concentrations far above serum concentration. upregulated, indicating possible drug resistance increased EMT.In conclusion, these results suggest should used caution patients who suffering or have personal history cancer. However, more detailed studies required deepen understanding consequences ▶Graphical Abstract.
