ABSTRACT
Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to assess computed tomography (CT) images cadaveric feline stifles and record the relationship between patella femoral trochlea in normal stifles; then investigate effect block recession trochleoplasty (BRT) with without partial parasagittal patellectomy (PPP) on patellofemoral contact, depth patellar size patella. Materials Methods sample population included six cat cadavers (12 stifles). Preoperative CT scans three positions: extended (155–165°), neutral (85–95°) flexed (35–45°). Lateral stifle arthrotomy followed by BRT. were taken as above. PPP performed so width 1 mm narrower than repeated measurements taken. Results area contact significantly reduced after BRT increased PPP. unchanged BRT, but higher wider preoperatively post-BRT post-PPP. Reduction bone volume following (mean: 20%) 50% reduction 40%). Conclusion Block did not improve decreased area. Following rides trochlear ridges loses sulcus. alone should be cats. Instead, combined
