Circulating thrombospondin-2 as a novel, highly predictive serum marker of liver fibrosis and outcome in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis

Thrombospondin-2 (TSP2) is a matricellular protein in organ fibrosis. TSP2 expression highly upregulated fibrogenesis, as shown patients with fatty liver disease, lung fibrosis and pilot study of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), where wheat free diet reduced elevated levels. We therefore hypothesised that may serve novel marker PSC.
