ABSTRACT
Achalasia is rare motor disorder of esophageal smooth muscle. It has been linked to malnutrition during pregnancy leading maternal and fetal mortality. We report a case achalasia with intrauterine death who succeeded in following good outcome after operative treatment. A 34-year-old pregnant woman had at 27 gestational weeks due severe persistent pregnancy. was diagnosed postpartum myotomy-fundoplasty performed. She normal delivery healthy baby 21 months the operation. This suggests effect early onset on poor outcome, efficacy surgical myotomy for improvement outcome.
