How to improve older adults’ trust and intentions to use virtual health agents: an extended technology acceptance model

ABSTRACT
Previous studies have examined the influence of usability, ease use, and usefulness on enhancing older adults' intentions to use virtual agents. However, they overlooked impact doctor-patient relationships. To explore how improve trust usage intentions, this study expanded Technology Acceptance Model with perceived medical narrativity, presence, subjective norms. Data from 230 adults were collected through online offline surveys. Structural equation modeling results revealed that is influenced by norms narrativity. Subjective but narrativity did not same effect. Medical presence positively related trust, thus influencing their intentions. Perceived directly influences intention while mediation usefulness. This combines relationships factors technology perception factors, contributing exploration social can be integrated into use.
