ABSTRACT
The axial pile capacity can be estimated from the cone penetration test (CPT) using either /Iindirect methods/N or /Idirect methods/N. indirect methods employ a dual-phase methodology of estimating geoparameters for evaluating shaft and base resistance (f/Dp/N q/Db/N, respectively) capacity. direct use penetrometer readings to directly obtain f/Dp/N q/Db/N. These correlation efforts results testing have resulted in large variety design methodologies. newer multi-channel piezocone (CPTu) device allows derivation more elaborate correlations. To update formulations, quick review CPTu-based is presented, followed by comprehensive study, where most updated largest pile-CPTu database were used. Simplified correlations, based on soil classification index (I/Dc/N), are presented q/Db/N different types.
