ABSTRACT
We present a novel all-dielectric left-handed metamaterial (LHM) in the X-band microwave regime. The LHM is formed by cubes and square rods, which are made of ceramic with high permittivity low loss. Both Mie theory dielectric resonator found to play important roles generating negative effective parameters. permeability designed frequency range due first resonance associated cubes, while below plasma owing second mode rods. parameter retrieval method, transmission spectra method wedge-shaped refraction used demonstrate that composite has double-negative Experiments carried out verify LHM. proposed presents new ways realize LHMs.
