ABSTRACT
Recent developments in dynamic Atomic Force Microscopy where several eigenmodes are simultaneously excited liquid media proving to be an excellent tool biological studies. Despite its relevance, the search for a reliable, efficient, and strong cantilever excitation method is still progress. Herein, we present theoretical modeling experimental results of different actuation methods compatible with operation environments: ideal acoustic, homogeneously distributed force, applied torque (MAC Mode™), photothermal magnetostrictive excitation. From analysis results, it can concluded that magnetostriction strongest most efficient technique higher eigenmode when using soft cantilevers media.
