ABSTRACT
This paper examines the experimental requirements to observe two shock fronts driven by a single x-ray source in systems with sharp absorption edge. We consider where peak of radiation drive coincides K-edge carbon, which occurs at photon energy 284 eV, causing photons be deposited regions. The low-energy (E < eV) penetrate further and main shock, while higher-energy > are absorbed ablated plasma. These create an ionization front, then produces second termed edge-shock. Using different radiation-hydrodynamics code opacity equation state tables, we replicate previous work build upon them explore conditions required form edge shock. find that having material coincide spectral domain is necessary but not sufficient on its own
