ABSTRACT
The radioactive anomalies finding in Rantedoda area, Tapalang sub-district, Mamuju, West Sulawesi, give a clue that there are potential of mineral this area. In Botteng, Takandeang, and Hulu Mamuju area davidite ((U, Ce, Fe)2(Ti, Fe, V, Cr)5O12), thorianite (ThO2), britholite (Ce, Ca, X)5(SiO4)3(OH), thorutite (Th, U, Ca)Ti2(O, OH)6, monazite (REE, Th(PO4)) were found as primary minerals, meanwhile gummite (UO3.nH2O) autunite (CaO.2UO3.P2O5.8H2O) secondary minerals. Analysis uranium thorium bearing minerals the has never been carried out, so type is still unknown. objective research to identify U Th-bearing from Rantedoda, using Elemental Mapping Micro-XRF (EMMX) analysis figure out elemental distribution, geochemical composition, determine U-and presences ThO2 range 0.06-0.13 wt%, UO2 0.00-0.09 rare earth elements 0.00-1.21 dominantly composed by Y2O3 0.00-0.03 Ce2O3 0.21-1.21 wt%. results show distribution pattern similar P, Sr elements, groundmass, Th mostly distributed groundmass. Mineral identification Advanced Identification Characterization System (AMICS) shows accumulated on apatite groundmass consisted clay such montmorillonite chlorite. These occurrences can be guide next exploration target.
