ABSTRACT
Arrhythmia of the heart is a dangerous and potentially fatal condition. The current widely used treatment implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), but it invasive affects patient’s quality life. sonogenetic mechanism proposed here focuses ultrasound on cardiac tissue, controls endogenous stretch-activated Piezo1 ion channels focal region’s cardiomyocyte sarcolemma, restores normal rhythm. In contrast to anchoring implanted ICD lead at fixed position in myocardium, size region can be selected dynamically by adjusting signals every piezoelectric chip ultrasonic phased array, allows novel efficient defibrillations. Based developed interdisciplinary electro-mechanical model treatment, our analysis shows that intensity frequency will safe painless for humans well below limits established U.S. Food Drug Administration.
